Dr. Poer has been practicing in Indianapolis for
over 30 plus years. He is an ophthalmologist certified by
the American Board of Ophthalmology and by the American College of
Surgeons. He is also a member of the Christian Medical and Dental
Association. He was trained at the University of Michigan and
Indiana University and completed his retina fellowship at an
affiliate of the University of Arkansas in Little Rock,
Arkansas.
Dr. Poer's largely referral-based practice is
limited to medical and surgical diseases of the retina and
vitreous. He works closely with referral doctors in treating
patients with macular degeneration, retinal detachment, diabetic
retinopathy, ocular trauma, and various other medical and surgical
conditions. He has a variety of state-of-the-art diagnostic
equipment including the capability to perform digital fluorescein
and ICG angiography, optical coherence tomography, ultrasound,
automated visual fields, etc. He also uses a wide variety of laser
instruments for different ocular treatments. He has in-office and
adjacent surgical center facilities and also operates at Community
Hospitals and St. Vincent Hospitals in Indianapolis. He has been
named among the "Best Doctors in America" 2002-2003, 2005-2006,
2007-2008 and 2009-2010 (Best Doctors), and was one of Indianapolis
Monthly's "Top Doctors" (Indianapolis Monthly, September, 1998).
